Since it is black, you don't see dirt on it but it does hold on to dog hair. so it needs to be vacuumed periodically. My daughter sadly got paint on her carpet bedroom. I was pretty mad at first and even got some quotes to replace the carpet with either new carpet or hardwood floors which was pretty costly. Instead, I bought a big throw rug to just put down and I bought the 9 x 12. At first glance, it does not seem all that sturdy kind of like a bathmat quality. It’s soft but pretty light and I was a little concerned that it won’t stay down. I unenrolled it and it kind of fluffed up. It’s obviously not the thickest lush shag rug I’ve ever seen but for the price it’s decent. Pretty sure it’s washable too so if she gets it dirty, I’ll throw it in the machine.
