To start, the materials are all durable and made of tough ABS type plastic.But the suction cup is the most impressive part of this thing. It is made of some type of thick, very sticky material; suction isn't even required to get the thing to stick to the windshield, and that's with the phone in the cradle (I have an iPhone 8 Plus, which is pretty heavy). In fact, peeling this cradle off the windshield is difficult; be prepared to use some muscle to peel this thing off the glass.The joint is easily adjusted with the locking nut, and you can really lockyour phone into position if you want. Your phone is held by a spring-loaded claw, which is also pretty strong, and the inside of the claw has tough rubber 'teeth' to securely hold your phone without damaging the finish/cover of your phone.I do a lot of driving off-road and down forest roads, dry creekbeds, etc. (you know, places where your drinks need lids and anything sitting on a seat ends up on the floor after flying through the air) and this cradle has handled all of it without a single issue.If you need a tough, totally reliable phone cradle for your truck, this is the one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally a window mount that works *by H***A on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2020* Purchased this on a road trip as the one we owned finally just gave out. This definitely holds up as indicated. Only downside to this, and may others, is do NOT leave it attached to the windshield unless it is fully shaded. Over time the adhesion will melt in full sun and it is difficult to remove from the windshield once this happens. A razor blade was needed to remove the adhesion, followed by adhesion remover to set on the windshield, then clean the windshield. So remove it each time you are not using it and no issues. The suction is really strong. I even moved it around a few times and still never had issues with it falling off. The one issue I did have, was that one day, out of the blue, the the jaw just snapped off. I noticed that the jaws had a loose grip on my phone and when I went to remove my phone, it just snapped.
