It is amazing. We keep it outside now just in case
FIXED my problem. Let me paint the picture, we are surrounded by 3 houses: left and right have 3 dogs each and the one in the back has one small dog that never gets tired of barking. That is a total of seven dogs barking at different times.I bought the product to see if could be free in my backyard without having gangs of dogs trying to bite the fence to attack us. I can finally say it is finished, all it takes is a couple of beeps and they move away from the fence, I make noises play my guitar and they just stay quiet. It took about a week of going outside to train them, now they bark less. It is amazing. We keep it outside now just in case.BONUS: it has an audible sound function that stops any dog if they want to attack. If you want your freedom outside without fear of a dog attacking you on your daily walk this is the product for you.

Passed It's Intended Purpose Test
If you're like me, and you read a "fantastic!!" review, you get suspicious, like maybe the writer got one for free in exchange for an "unbiased" review. I bought and paid for this item, but almost didn't because of all the glowing reviews. I was suspicious. My puppy and I have been bothered by an aggressive barking dog as we walk every day. My dog just freaks when the other dog starts snarling. Today, I saw the dog rush the fence, and it got out one bark before I could press the button on the device, but when I did, the dog turned and went away quietly. It seemed to have an affect on the pup as well. She seemed less agitated. Now, I never heard anything, but the aggressive dog turned away quietly. That alone makes this device a good investment. But, in addition, the pup was barking at something this morning, so just for the heck of it, I hit the button again, for less than a second. I didn't hear another peep out of her. I'm inclined to believe it was the device. I'll be carrying this with me whenever we're out, walking or the dog park.

I no longer feel like a prisoner in my own home!
UPDATE: I barely use this anymore. The dog next door almost never barks at all now! Once in a while it will let out a bark, but all I have to do is raise my garage door and it shuts up because it knows the ultrasound is coming its way if it doesn’t!Be warned, thought, that not every dog responds to it. I tried it on another neighbor’s dog that barks every time I walk by its yard and it didn’t even respond. But the big dog next door is remarkably quiet now, and that is all I cared about!I've happily lived in my house for two years, and recently the elderly lady next door sold her house to people who not only have a large dog that barks constantly but do not care. I have tried talking to the neighbors (big no go) and the police (they don't care). I've bought noise canceling headphones (they work but I don't want to wear headphones all day every day), noise machines (didn't work as well as the headphones), and earplugs (they work, but then I can't hear anything). I feel like a prisoner in my own home, and I was entertaining the idea of putting my house on the market just to get away from the constant barking when I decided to buy one of these.I didn't expect it to work, to be honest, but it did! I aimed the device at the dog and it immediately shut up for about two minutes. Then it started barking again. The second time was a bit more of a struggle, but I just kept pushing the button until it shut up. Then I waited. A few minutes later, it barked again, but it shut up quickly after I used the device. The dog is now laying quietly on the neighbor's porch and hasn't barked in almost two hours. SWEET, SWEET BLISSFUL QUIET! I can't believe it!I know it's not the dog's fault that it barks all the time (it is a large breed and the neighbors just keep it in a tiny yard and never walk it and rarely let it in the house), but I cannot tell you how close I was to going crazy from the constant noise. I am so relieved!I almost never write reviews on Amazon, but I had to review this product.

It really does depend on the dog.
Was skeptical at first because other reviews said it all depends on the dog - that either the dog would respond favorably or ignore it. Well, the only way to find out was to just order it, try it, and find out. So, my 4 yr. old German Shepherd, Husky mix is very bull-headed and I can tell she really doesn't want to comply. When she incessantly barks we show her the device, sternly say "Stop It" and then push the button. She gives us the stink eye and tests us with more barking, but we do this maybe twice more. And then guess what? She finally stops the barking! I only gave it 4 stars because it really does depend on the dog. This product does work for those who will comply, but some, like our Sasha, may fight it. But thank goodness she does give in. She's getting better, too. Sometimes - if she's in the mood - she's shut up when we show her the unit. Other times it takes 2 to 3 tries. But it does work!

OMG OMG OMG it works
We use this thing with glee on our neighbor's little yappy dog, who barks outside incessantly. Correction, DID bark incessantly. My husband went a bit overboard the first time, pressing it repeatedly and for a long time. The poor dog ran to the farthest part of the yard from our house and cowered. I do not approve of that usage, FYI. About a week later, the dog was in the street in front of our house, barking its fool head off again while my son was sleeping. I opened the front door, tapped the button quickly once, and the dog immediately was quiet and went running toward home. As it passed my porch I tapped it again and the dog jerked its head in my direction, then sped up. Since then, barely any barking. It is SUCH a relief! Beware though, don't play with it in the house if you have other pets. I scared the crap out of my cat.
