She doesn't use the arced fur scratcher thing... maybe she will, but probably not. She's a long-haired calico, so I'd like her to... but so far, she hasn't touched it. She mainly just uses the scratch pole and bats the balls around a bit. Your miles may vary.UPDATE: She loves, loves, loves this thing. She now uses the scratchy arch all the time. She gets her whole head scratched on all sides. It's unreal how much she likes the scratchy arch now.UPDATE2: This is now her goto spot. When I walk in the room, she immediately goes here. She loves to get pet while doing the scritchy-scratchy on all sides of her head. I only wish she'd learn to scritchy scratch the rest of her body instead of just her head. This product came with easy to follow instructions (just in case I would need them) but was very easy to put together, and very sturdy, even when my boy really pushes hard against the arch. I like that the base has both a soft and 'scratchy' side. The product is well made, and the arch material seems to feel 'just right' to my boy, who loves being brushed and petted in general.So far he's played with the little 'bouncy' toy a bit - I think a kitten would love it. I do like that the spring has a good covering to prevent little paws from getting stuck. And the toy is easily removed if not needed, and I don't think would affect the 'look' of the groomer at all.I think it's a good size - my guy is about 12 pounds and can get through the archway, but I don't think it's too big for a growing kitten or a more svelte adult.Very glad I got this model. He is normally down here near it and he seems to thoroughly enjoy. It’s definitely taking him away from his bad attention seeking activities of clawing other stuff in front of us and running away, basically gone down to zero.The current price of $36 is better then chewy’s $45-60 range that looked about the same and better looking that a lot of others on Amazon that fit the same bill. This is a $5 or $7 (if didn’t negotiate manufacturing well) unit shipped and import taxes selling for $37 which is in the 7xCosts educated assumption you need ~3xCosts to be profitable while covering all operational expenses, liabilities, and product dev. 4-5xCost is acceptable, but 7x and higher by others can be considered greedy.Con: shared by others the pipe cleaner like scratcher once in a while pops out of almost off of these I’ve seen.
