## Description

Product description Stay healthy and make the most of your days with reliable blood pressure measurements! How to use the calibration key. The kit includes a small key that fits into the air-guard opening of the manometer. Carefully rotate the key sideways according to what is needed. Please note that turning the key clockwise moves the arrow to the left, and vice versa. This key is for adjusting slight move of manometer needle. Adjustment range: 6mmHg from center of zero position. Small key cannot be turned full circle of manometer. Otherwise, mechanism will be damaged. Manual Blood Pressure Cuff by Paramed is made from quality materials for people who value accuracy. Please note that there is no stethoscope in this model. The high-quality materials also include sturdy hardware like the steel D-ring on the blue cuff, the metal body on the manometer, which is made of zinc alloy, and the premium Velcro on the cuff. This blood pressure measuring kit includes all the necessary components Sphygmomanometer; Cuff; Bulb and Valve; Carry bag; Calibration key; User manual. Product benefits Quality materials The pressure gauge of our device is made of high quality zinc alloy. And the velcro fastener perfectly fixes, does not unfasten at the maximum mode of air injection. Therefore, the device will serve you for a long time. Comfortable cuff Manual Blood Pressure Cuff by Paramed has a comfortable cuff 16 inch long. This means that people of any stature can measure pressure without problems. The cuff is designed for daily use and multiple measurements. Standard D-Ring Cuff A D-ring cuff is a cuff in which the user passes through one end of the cuff through a metal ring and then attaches it to the arm. Cuff adjustment is easily done using this stainless steel ring. Clip for a cuff The manometer has a special fastening tool so that you can attach it in a place that's comfortable for you. It's convenient for the readout to be at eye level so that you can carefully monitor the pressure gauge. How to use a sphygmomanometer correctly Put the cuff Put the cuff on your left arm 2-3 cm (~1 inch) above your elbow. Cuff's tubes should run along the center of your arm. Wrap the cuff around your arm so that you can fit one finger between the cuff and your arm, and attach it with Velcro. Place the stethoscope Put the stethoscope (you will need to obtain one separately) on. Make sure that the earpieces are facing forward. If you put them in backwards, you won’t be able to hear anything. Place the head on your humeral artery a bit above the elbow joint facing the body where the artery usually runs. You can secure the stethoscope using the cuff. Pump air Quickly fill the cuff with air until it reaches your typical upper pressure reading with an additional 30 mmHg. Then, stop pumping in air. Start letting air out of the cuff so that the manometer's arrow descends 2-3 marks per second. Listen to Korotkoff sounds Note the pressure when you first hear your heartbeat. This is the upper, or systolic, pressure number. Note the pressure when the sound stops. This is the lower, or diastolic, pressure number. We recommend writing down your measurements, which will help you and your doctor analyze your health. Factors that may affect the real values of the arterial blood pressure

Review: Great product - ery reliable and easy to use. The readings are accurate and the quality feels professional. Comes with everything needed and works perfectly at home. Definitely a great value for the price.”
Review: Solid, Lasted 2 Years Before Needing a Quick Fix! - I’m actually buying this for the second time because it’s a great piece of kit. My first one lasted a full two years of regular use before the needle finally drifted slightly off zero and needed to be recalibrated. The only reason I'm buying a whole new set is that I lost the small calibration key that comes with it! Without that key, I can’t adjust the dial back to the start position. It’s definitely worth the money for the accuracy and durability you get. This time around, I’m definitely going to put the new calibration key in a safe place so I can keep the gauge running even longer. Highly recommend, just don't lose that tiny tool!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How Do You Use It?**
A: How I learned to do a 2-step blood pressure reading (suggested method for accurate blood pressure value) in nursing school:

1. Ask patient to have arms at heart level and legs uncrossed

2. Put cuff on patient’s arm about 1 inch above crease in elbow and making sure arrow on bladder points to brachial artery.

3. Make sure dial is turned all the way right (righty tighty).

4. Estimate systolic pressure by having your fingers on the radial pulse of arm you are measuring and pumping until you feel pulse stops then release. Note that number on the monitor and release pressure by moving the dial to the left (lefty loosy).

5. Count for 30 secs break before moving to 2nd step to accommodate for potential auscultatory gap.

6. Add 30 to estimated systolic pressure (gotten in step 4) and place stethoscope with either side of stethoscope on brachial artery. Pump until you reach your calculated number and slowly release pressure about 2 mm/hg per sec to note very first (systolic) and very last (diastolic) korotkoff sound

7. Always state what patient’s blood pressure is and that normal systolic is less than 120 mm/hg, normal diastolic is less than 80 mm/hg.

Hope that helps! Practice is the #1 way to get this down.

**Q: How do you know it needs a calibration if it doesnt have a zero printed on the face?**
A: There is a difference between Zeroing a meter and Calibrating it. Zeroing a meter means adjusting the needle to be at the zero mark when there is zero stimulus (in this case, zero pressure). This is often done when making differential measurements - which is NOT what the typical person is doing when reading their BP. A Zeroed meter is highly unlikely to be Calibrated - it would be a complete coincidence if it was. There is no 0 mark on the meter to discourage amateurs from Zeroing the meter thinking they were Calibrating it. A calibrated meter is one that has been adjusted to match a known standard that is traceable to an official standards organization like ANSI. You would calibrate a simple mechanical meter like this one to read the same pressure as a standard at a pressure close to the average pressures being measured. So if your BP was typically 120/80 you would calibrate the meter to match the standard at 100. Due to slight variations in manufacturing, it is unlikely that a calibrated meter would read exactly 0 at zero pressure, but it would be very accurate around the pressure to which it was calibrated. The further away the measured pressure is from the pressure to which the meter was calibrated, the less accurate the measurement would become. Standards are expensive to maintain, so unless you are a calibration company it is not worth buying one. However, your doctor's meter is regularly calibrated to a standard (or at least should be) so you can bring your meter in with you and adjust your meter to read the same as theirs (or reasonably close). This is not technically calibrating your meter because it is not directly using a standard, but it is plenty close for our purposes.

**Q: Is this a good BP cuff for a beginning nursing studentl?**
A: It is good to practice with, especially considering the value, so I would recommend it. However, I will warn you that the dial broke after 3 weeks of daily use for me, so I wouldn't use it that often.

**Q: Is this product latex free?**
A: My wife is an RN she says that to her knowledge there is no latex. However, she also said that it fell apart after short use and would not recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality, easy to use.
*by B***T on March 3, 2026*

I use this blood pressure cuff multiple times a day. The cuff is a good size, I would imagine it fits a very large range of people. The gauge is easy to read and the bulb and knob are both easy and comfortable to use. My only complaint is that it would be nice if the tubes were just a couple of inches longer, but they are fine. So far it works exactly as it should and it seems to be of decent quality, hopefully it holds up over time.
