A: I don't know what builders sand is. But this is VERY fine sand, almost powder. A little goes a long way in your potting mix.

Well, after all, it's a bag of sand......what can I say?It's fine grained, much more refined than building center bags....I used it to buffer my perennial seed plantings but it could be very useful if you were planting succulents, especially indoors.
