You can choose to use both at the same time which I liked. I can see the changes in my plants- I have a wandering Jew that had lost the color saturation in the leaves, and the light was able to bring back most of that color loss. I’m defintely impressed with the qualit- it’s sturdy! Which is part of the reason I’m giving it 4/5 stars. It is a little heavy which can be difficult for my hanging pots to hold up.
