Review: Refresh every few days and you're golden! - I bought this product for my teenage type 1 diabetic son. He needed independence and this gives peace of mind. It does not leak! I read a review stating it leaks. After recharging with water and only while it's wet in the water their may be a very slight film on the water. It's likely from the gel beads, but to claim it leaks is ridiculous. It's much better to chatge every 2 to 3 days if you're going to use it continuously. My son often forgets to recharge with water and the beads get dried out if you do this. This little bag is amazing! It keeps 2 pens perfectly (unless you overcharge!) If you do overcharge be sure to put medication in with the lid on top sliding pen in with counterpart first. This way you don't have to try and get a lid out! This only happens that the fit is too tight if you leave in water too long. The learning curve isn't that hard. I'd recommend using a timer. Start with 2 minutes per side in cold water and continue flipping until product feels full. It will literally puff up! First time or after not using for a while takes longer to charge. Love this little thing! Now if only they made them specifically for epipens! Not to people who don't understand the concept os this bag, it keeps your medication at room temp! Once insulin is removed from fridge for use this is recommended! Nobody wants to put refrigerated insulin in their body! It can hurt/sting. Also remember it's perfectly safe to store your insulin at room temperature and use for 28 days! Some people write reviews complaining this product doesn't keep their child's insulin at 45 degrees. It seems they don't understand that's just when refrigerating for long term storage that u have a max temp of 46. Personally I keep our insulin in a seperate mini fridge and store around 40°. Recommend Temps are 36° to 46° F or between 2-8°C. That's for long term storage!!! This Frio wallet is for daily storage at room temperatures! Room temperature storage is between 59° to 86° F or 15° to 30°C . This keeps it perfectly in that sweet spot even when in the heat when used properly! Sweet spot being 20–25°C or 68–77°F! Incredible product.
Review: Stay cool and safe—no ice packs or batteries needed - Bought this to safely store insulin during travel and hot weather. What I like • Keeps insulin cool for over 45 hours without ice or electricity • Just soak in water to activate—super easy and reusable • Compact size fits easily in a purse or carry-on What could be better • Doesn’t keep meds cold, just cool—won’t replace a fridge • Takes a while to dry out completely after use Bottom line: A reliable, no-fuss cooling case for on-the-go insulin storage. Perfect for travelers or anyone on the move, but look at 4AllFamily Insulin Cooler if you need refrigerated temps.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will tsa at the airport allow it through? one of the comments referred to it as a gel, and i did not think gels are allowed.**
A: It's allowed. Go to TSA.gov- search for " passengers with Diabetes". Here is what it says...Liquids, gels, and aerosols are screened by X-ray and medically necessary items over 3.4 ounces will receive additional screening. A passenger could be asked to open the liquid or gel for additional screening. The TSA officer will not touch the liquid or gel during this process. If the passenger does not want a liquid, gel, or aerosol X-rayed or opened for additional screening, he or she should inform the officer before screening begins. Additional screening of the passenger and his or her property may be required, which may include a pat-down. You have the option of requesting a visual inspection of your insulin and diabetes associated supplies. We always recommend that you bring a letter from your physician stating that you require the medication that you were bringing with you....And, that it needs to remain cool.

**Q: Will this fit an epi pen?**
A: These are great for epis when it is hot outside! Unfortunately, the newer epis are a weird shape and don't fit as nicely as they used to. You used to be able to fit 2 in this size.

**Q: What are the dimensions? want to fit a norditropen gh pen**
A: The inner dimensions of the Duo FRIO are 3.5" x 7.0 - usually enough to carry two medication pens.

**Q: does this have slots for each pen? or is it just open?**
A: No it's just open and for the pens it's hard to have two in there. Just too tight when the beads are full of water.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lasts for DAYS and easy to chill in minutes ANYWHERE!
*by A***N on March 27, 2026*

This thing is AMAZING. They say it lasts for 48 hours, but mine is still cold after almost a WEEK! And all you have to do to refresh it is soak it in water for a few minutes, which you can easily do in a hotel room. It also is small enough to fit in most pockets so you don't even need a purse. I keep it in my sweater pocket so I always have it with me. I just LOVE it!!! Don't bother with those old fashioned, inconvenient ice packs. This is the BEST!
