Pads are marked to indicate the direction pads should face when installed. **Q: Can I replace 50mm pads with these 70mm pads on a 20 inch bike with v-brakes?** A: Yes, just adjust your cable. **Q: The v brakes pads come with the large spacer next to the brake pads, but I always thought the smaller spacer should be on the brake pad side. Confused** A: You can change the spacers around depending on the width of the rim. The convex washers always want to have their flat side against the brake arm, and the concave washers always want their flat side against the brake pad or the nut. The goal is for the brake arms to be parallel when the brake engages; therefore the thicker concave washer goes between the rim and the brake arm (and the thinner washer between the brake arm and the nut) for narrow rims, and the thinner concave washer goes between the brake arm and the rim for wider rims. If your brakes look like a trapezoid and not a rectangle when engaged, then change the orientation. **Q: Are the ok for aluminum rims?** A: I have aluminum rims and they work perfectly! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ They work *by M***P on Reviewed in Canada on 5 August 2021* I changed the old worn out brakes in my 2 mountain bikes for mine and my gfs bike. Hers seem to be a little softer and have very good bite they will lockup the tires no problem. My only issue is on my bike they compound seems a little harder and doesn't stop as well as the other ones does. You may need to switch around the spacer pieces to install them but it's easy and you can figure it out. Overall I'd say for the money they are ok.
