It's pretty heavy duty MDF board with veneer and feels solid. It is very heavy and took about 3 hours to assemble. Overall a really good piece for the price! ### ⭐ Nothing is square *by L***D on September 10, 2021* 3 hours to assemble. Exhausting. The drawers wouldn’t go in “gently” like instructions guide. A friend said they had to really force them in. That worked but they aren’t straight and don’t open/close smoothly. One drawer came damaged. The door won’t hang straight either. It’s adjusted as far as it will go. Now I have to unassemble and return. All that “fun” for $350. Too bad. It would have beautiful if not for all the gaps/uneven drawers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful piece with surprisingly sturdy pieces *by E***G on September 13, 2021* I was surprised by how much I liked this once it arrived. When I ordered it, it was as a consolation prize because I didn't want to spend the money for my first choice piece - but I love this. The hardware is brassy but very subtle, the finish is a bit warmer than walnut - very true to the photo in my opinion. The backer boards are sturdy and attractive, and come together with screws instead of those little tack nails you often find. The drawers do stick just a bit, but seem to loosen up with use.
