Thanks** A: It has a one inch hole but also a set screw to hold it in place...i believe they will work fine on a 7/8 in pole... **Q: Will these fit a 1.25" triangle pole?** A: The 1.25" must refer to the OD of the ring. The ID is 1" and I used my rings I purchased to mount my flag to a 1" OD aluminum pole. The ID of the rings is 1" and the 1" pole (pipe) fit through the ring hole exactly, no leeway for a larger pole or pipe. I have to say, no, a 1.25 pole or pipe is too large for the rings ID of 1". **Q: Can these be used for a sleeve flag...not a grommet one?** A: Not practically. A sleeve flag would not need these and could not use them. A sleeve flag does not have the grommeted holes to accept these rings. As some folks indicate in their answers, a sleeve flag could be attached at the top of the pole, using the tab inside the top of the sleeve. These are well made. Here are some benefits and tips:The recessed (counter sunk) set screws make it impossible for the flag to get caught on one.Don't spread them to far apart making the flag to taught. This causes friction with the ring and sleeve and the flag will not unfurl as easy.Spray a little Alum-I-lube on the ring and sleeve assembly and they work even better.I would say this product keeps my flag unfurled 95% of the time. Easy to install and with the enclosed Alan key were easy to align and lock into place with no obstructions around the surface of the rotating ring. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but best Flag rings on the market. *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2017* Ok, so i purchased this in Feb, 9 2017, and it broke just before July 4th 2017 (i know bummer, lucky i had a spare set). So why 4 stars? Because simply these are the best flag pole rings on the market right now. I've purchased dozens of different plastic rings, and they all fail within a month.So a little background on me, I live in a Valley where we get winds in the afternoon that hit 20-30mph gusts, and typically during the day it's around 0-7mph winds. So every afternoon when the wind whips in, it's a real test of anything not nailed down (usually garbage bins are tipped and all over the place).so i've gone through about a half dozen flag pole material types, and rings, and like most people when i first moved in, i used the standard 3 piece aluminum/plastic flagpole, and it would break, then i tried a couple wooden flag poles, and they broke, i eventually went to home depot and just bought some 1 inch galvanized aluminum pipe and then that solved the pole breaking, but next thing was that the mounts would break. I eventually wound up using a cast iron mounting bracket (that they use for boats), and i haven't had any problems since then. The only weak spot was the rings. I tried using metal cable ties, and zip ties, and various wires, and they always would break. I found these gave them a shot, and worked wonderfully.Using other metal methods worked to keep the flag up, but it would always wrap. So in the morning before leaving work, i'd have to unwrap it, and then when i came home, unwrap it again, very tedious, so once i found these they pretty much eliminated me from having to unravel them daily. They still might get tangled once in awhile, but very rarely.here are some tips, and I've included pics to help:1. make sure your rings are facing the correct position. You want the part with the screw to be farthest away from the top or bottom of the flag. You also want to make sure they are ever so slightly pulling them diagonally so if the flag swings, it won't get caught on the screw nub.2. use some thread locke on the screws and use a wrench to give a "slight" tightening to the screw... don't break it, but just enough to make sure it's tight.3. use a very small sized cable tie to make sure the flag doesn't creep up into the top part of the carabiner, or that the carabiner doesn't turn around.4. use some kind of grease or wd-40 on the ring to help with the friction of metal on metal.5. if possible, drill through the flag pole so that the screws can actually screw into the pole as well.6. If you're having problems with it unscrewing, you can locktite the threads, and put a zip tie under it, to prevent it from loosening it up.7. keep a spare set handy.Amazingly some of my earlier flags would break at the grommet point, but i've been buying  American Flag 3x5 ft. Nylon SolarGuard Nyl-Glo by Annin Flagmakers, 100% Made in USA with Sewn Stripes, Embroidered Stars and Brass Grommets.  Model 2460  and this flag is a champion, no rips no tears yet, been out day and night, and still looks great. I usually go through 1 flag a year, and always give them to a Vet neighbor who takes it to his VFW Hall.I've also attached a pic of the ring and showed were the constant rubbing of metal on metal cause it to fail.
