It does a good job of getting hair out of carpet. I have a cat with thick long fur and my vacuum can’t get it out of the super deep carpet so this helps a LOT! It's really nice to have the small hand brush as well. BUT, you use a lot of pressure to brush and the pole bends easily. After about a month and a half of regular use, the pole was unusable. That being said, the pole screws into the brush head, so I was able to go to the hardware store and purchase ($7) a wood extension pole that screws into the brush head. Works perfectly and is super sturdy. Honestly, even with buying the additional pole, I still love this product.
