This parasol ROCKS!!! It's an absolute game changer!!! Light weight and very effective! I'm section hiking the PCT and started section F (edge of the Mojave Desert) on July 1. It would've been impossible without the shade this umbrella provided. I got lucky with low winds. If it's very windy, it's not really viable. But then the "wind chill" helps keep you cooler. I would recommend "tightening" velcro straps on at least 3 points of your shoulder straps to secure it.
