It's only priced at about $25, but it's one of those books that they could charge $50 for and people would still flock to buy it. I am a newbie photographer - only one year into studying it in school and only about 5 months in to practicing in a serious way. This book is great for newbies and experts, because it has 52 projects that are all pretty unique. A few repeat themselves a bit (like flowers - how many ways can you do those? They show you!), but overall I think it's the best photography book I've purchased - and I've purchased quite a few!I love that the book shows you the end product, as well as how to achieve it using your camera and editing programs. It breaks it down step by step and even has screenshots of the editing. I've won photo club contests, been published, and frequently photographed family weddings and get togethers. Over the past 10 years I've transitioned to also use digital cameras but have not experimented with Photoshop Elements very much, just a bit.I borrowed this book from the library yesterday and liked it so much I bought a copy today. I like the modeling setups, camera settings, use of filters and reflectors, and model poses shown in the book. Each of the 52 photo shoots is thoroughly explained as well as the in-lab (computer) modifications and adjustments using Photoshop Elements.Since most of the shoots are valid for either film or digital cameras it is easy to take what I already know and extend it to digital work. I think this book would also be valuable for a beginner with a good DSLR. The only things not covered are astrophotography and underwater photography.Current film cameras: Minolta X-700, Nikon F4, Nikon FE2, Voightlander Bessa - R & Nikon N80.
