Both the fabric and stiching are exceptionally impervious to abrasion, as the rocks and ground I sat upon was some of the grittiest gravel and sand known to mankind. They took a beating though still look and feel new. I also got so much food stuffs and pine tar (pine tar!) on them, they should be standing on their own. A quick wipe with my hand and they look perfectly clean and new once more. The flaps over the high quality zippers are wonderfully engineered. But Alice, are they functional? These shorts move with me like no other pair of cargo shorts I've ever owned, and the pockets are perfectly placed for comfort and access while sitting or standing. I've ordered two more colors of the same and a pair of cargo pants from the same brand to see if this was a fluke.
