It will stay in this mode, just verify now and then by looking for both LEDs to be lit up. The reason you want this is so the heating element for the water sprayer only goes on after you sit on the seat. Otherwise, it will be warming the seat 24/7 and since it uses conductive heating, that can cost you on the electric bill. Besides, it starts to warm the water once you sit and only takes about 60 seconds. You need that time to do your business anyway, usually. It might also warm the toilet seat, but let's get real. It's plastic. However cold your home might be, a plastic seat warms with your body in about 5 seconds or less anyway. ***********UPDATE********** Just after the 5-year mark, it started blowing outlet circuit breakers. I thought it was the outlet and changed it. The unit will always work initially, but when I return to the toilet, the breaker the GFI circuit it tripped. I'm now going to consider a new one. Easy install if you’re somewhat handy and have a wrench laying around. Pros: Love the updated remote, must have. Soft close is smooth. Quality parts/construction. Stable and comfortable. The water pressure is strong. All the functional aspects work well and are very adjustable. Power cord is on the right side so if you’re fitting out a bathroom the outlet should be on the right but the cord is long enough to reach either side. Friend of mine got the XCQQ with the controls attached on the side and in my opinion the seat on that model had me sitting more forward and unnatural compared to this model. Also there wasn’t as much room so men have to tuck it down and in so to speak, not ideal at all. Also the controls on the toilet seat…? After thinking about the long term maintenance/cleanliness the remote option was the obvious choice so I can keep it away from the dirty business. Cons: It looks a bit much/bulky. Would love a slimmer looking product for around the same price. $300 is steep compared to some of the other models with all the same functionality. Fitment could be an issue if toilet tank protruded out any more or seat measurements were smaller. Can’t use standard toilet cleaning products.
