The description says porcelain however the title says both porcelain and stoneware which is not the same.** A: I can't speak to the description on the page here in Amazon, nor have I dissected one of the cups to inspect the grain of the material, but according to the Mora site, they are made from Paladin clay, which is their own proprietary blend, making these purely ceramic mugs, non-cadium glaze, tested up to 1500F. So is it stoneware or porcelain? idk. They don't say what temp it's fired at, and it's a composite clay. I imagine if that blurb is in the text, then the composite clay is made of a mix of porcelain and stoneware clays. Exactly as described and are perfect for a capachino. Some mention the bottom portion feeling like sandpaper. This is a complete exaggeration. The bottom is a terracotta material and looks feels just like your typical garden terracotta pot. I feel this adds quite a bit of character to the cup. The glaze is solid and the speckled paint is characteristic of real vanilla bean ice cream.
