I thought I wasn't supposed to sweat at all, so I bought the expensive crap. It worked pretty well but I started learning about harmful chemicals found in hygiene products and deodorant seemed to be chock full of them!!! I was at a crossroads. I knew I couldn't have stinky or sweaty pits but I didn't want my body to be absorbing toxic chemicals either. I started my journey for a natural deodorant. I tried 4 store-bought brands with terrible results for every single one! Some made my armpits break out, some required more applications than I had time to even THINK about (let alone do), and some just straight-up left me stinky to the point where I couldn't even believe I smeared anything on them that day.I found the green tidings brand while doing a very intense internet search for deodorant. The top review, written by the tennis-playing man, had me curious. I figured I would try out one tube of the stuff to see if it lived up to its fancy reviews.My first observations:1) wow, the lavender-scented one REALLY smells like lavender. Great for people that LOVE the smell of actual lavender, not so great for people that don't want to smell like a hippie. For the record, I love it.2) It didn't really keep me from sweating all together (which I have learned now is a GOOD THING) but I so sweat significantly less than I did while using other natural brands3) IT WORKS! I mean it! I don't stink when I use this stuff!!!4) my husband (who is a very stinky man when he doesn't take proper precautions) used it and also fell in love. We now order the 3 packs and don't ever want to think about trying a different brand.Even the "negatives" about this product really aren't negatives. Just things that come with the product...1) it's more expensive than the chemical-laden sticks at the drug store (but it's worth the extra dollars)2) if you have a husband who loves to keep the house freezing cold, it may take a few passes over your skin before any of the product comes out. It's made with coconut oil so it hardens up when it's cold (buuuut I'm not mad about it because it's an easy thing to just rub the tube a few extra strokes AND I would rather have solid coconut oil for deodorant than aluminum. I can no longer use "traditional" drug store deodorants, they cause itching, irritation and swelling when used for more than a week. I have tried numerous natural deodorants but almost all the natural deodorants did not stop my arm pit stench for more than a few hours needing to be reapplied throughout the day. Many of the natural deodorants also caused itching and irritation, drying out my skin to the point it bled.Green Tidings is the first deodorant I have used that not only seems to work all day and for the most part has not caused any irritation.It seems thick and somewhat pasty but it goes on smooth and doesn't need to "air" dry before I dress. The deodorant works all day without reapplication. I have not found any stains on my shirts and I like the lavender scent although it is not so strong as to compete with other scents or perfumes. It is pricey but I do not find myself itching myself raw without realizing it and a stick lasts quite a few months for me.The one thing I have found is that unless I clean under my arms every night, the area may become irritated and a little itchy. With a nightly washing, this is the first deodorant I have been able to use which has done what it was supposed to do and has not played havoc with my body.I purchased my first stick during the winter and it lasted about 4 months. It was a firm deodorant that went on smoothly. The next stick I purchased around the end of June and the beginning of summer. It lasted only about 3 months and when it was very hot, the stick got a little soft and pasty. Although soft, it still went on smooth and did not leave any marks on my clothing. I work in an industrial kitchen and this worked as well as a traditional deodorant would in both the winter and the summer.bottom line: If you are looking for a natural deodorant with a relatively clean list of ingredients, this is worth a try.
