## Description

desertcart.com : Sea to Summit Comfort Deluxe Self-Inflating Foam Camping Mattress, Regular (72 x 25 x 4 inches) - 2021 : Sports & Outdoors

Review: Comfortable and quick inflating - Quick to inflate most of the way It's not fully self inflating (that's true of most "self inflating" pads). It contains foam that expands to pull in air. It's bulky and heavy, but that's fine for car camping.
Review: Not for me, but still a good sleeping mat - I'm testing out 3 mattresses for car camping, sleeping both in the car and in a tent. This Sea to Summit mat, megamat and megamat max. This will be going back. I really thought it would be the one based on how much people loved it but there are too many things I don't love: - when inflated the sides are less firm and I could see myself rolling off easily and repeatedly. This was not true of Megamat - deflation was super challenging and impossible to get it down to the size needed to repackage for return (so if you get a mat and the cardboard ring is not on closed, don't worry, it is new. the cardboard literally exploded as I tried to get the mat back in it. mat was tested on very clean floor in pet free house with a sheet on top) - They market one valve as a positive feature -- it is not. It took a while to figure out from the small pictures what they meant by twist (to me it is really a flip from inflate side out to the opposite side out) to get it set for deflation. Also there is an extremely small lip on the deflation side (see pic) that is difficult to insert. Then the deflation itself was me physically forcing air out as I rolled it up. I did it once, sealed it, unrolled it, then opened deflate valve again and did it all over again to get more air out. Megamat, in contrast, has two valves so no confusing figuring out how to inflate/deflate. With Megamat the best part is that even when lying on the mattress you can reach up, open the inflate valve cover, push the tiny valve and let out small amounts of air to adjust. Don't know any easy way to accomplish this with the Sea to Summitt. - I had trouble finding the sweet spot between too firm and making sure my hip didn't hit the ground when laying on my side. This was true of both megamat and StoS (hoping megamat max solves this) - Megamat comes with a handy little donut looking "pump" that worked great to top off the mattress. It even has a spot in the sack to store it--StoS doesn't come with any pump so you have to blow it up. There are pros to StoS mattress - the minute I opened it, it began inflating and went pretty far on it's own. impressive since from what I read it takes more time to self inflate mattresses like this when new. In contrast, Megamat barely inflated 2 inches in 2 hours but this may improve and the pump easily topped it up - was comfy - came in a bag with straps to help compress it so it packed snugly One of the big differences was due to user error on my part. When picking up the megamat at a brick and mortar store I didn't notice I'd gotten wide/long. Since I got it and tested it first it made the StoS seem very small. I hadn't thought I needed wide or long (I'm 4'10") but now that I tried it the narrower mattress just won't do. This is not a flaw of the StoS as I had intentionally ordered the smaller size but boy those 4.5 inches in width made a difference,. Currently waiting for the Megamat Max to arrive to test it. I suspect it will be the winner allowing me to fill less so not too firm and still keep me from touching the ground
