A: I would say when closed it is as good as the original door.

**Q: Is it waterproof with the door closed**
A: No - definitely not. It's not for this purpose - it's for ease of connecting a USB-C cable, and/or leaving it connected for constant power - but these benefits are at the expense of waterproof-ness.
