Review: Rexel X8 Cross-Cut Paper Shredder - We bought the Rexel X8 to shred our mountain of paperwork that we had collected over the years, we've been using the shredder for a while now, it's not bad and does a good job of getting rid of confidential paper waste to secure standards. I wouldn't put in more that the recommmended number of pieces of paper, if you do this, it can become to much for the cogs inside and you will damage the shredder in no time if you keep over-loading it. Having fixed a number of types of shredders at work over the years, people putting to many sheets in at once, is on top of the list for damaging a shredder. If your using it continously, it tends to over-heat and you will need to let it cool down, this is a shame as this puts it in the home use catogory, rather than a busy office in my humble opinion. It was quiet, it munched through the papers steadily and, because I've killed shredders before, I was extra careful. I did one page at a time, gave it time to finish each sheet properly before I started the next. I was careful not to overheat it, yet it stopped working for no reason I could find after a month. Actually, slightly over a month which made the return to Amazon a bit complicated. Now I'm on the hunt yet again for a decent shredder.
