Novalinea - Hair Strainer for Linear Shower Drains (Version 2)

I've seen some other reviews state that this is cheaply made; clearly they received a different item than I did. This is a nicely made deep-drawn stainless steel basket with a firmly attached stainless rod on top. My only complaint is it is too small for my shower drain hole. The outside diameter of the widest part of the basket is 1.85", while my shower hole is 2.00". That leaves a very big gap for gunk to run down, which defeats much of the purpose. And the rod length is only 2.30", so it comes pretty close to falling in the larger hole when the basket slides to one side. I guess they felt they needed to design for the smallest holes, but they really should also have some accommodation for larger holes. A couple of slip-on plastic rings to give closer fit in larger sizes would be perfect. I made my own adapter ring using a piece of Schedule-40 PVC pipe (1.5" size pipe) which fits very well. Outside diameter of the ring once installed is 1.98", which gives a nice tight fit. See photo.

Did not fit as planned. Leaving a tiny tiny gap for hair to fall through.. returned for refund. I measured the drain opening before ordering and this was suppose to fit without perfectly but wasn't. Not sure if I measured incorrectly or the strainer's measurements are off.

This product doesn't fit. I should have listened to the reviews instead of trusting the product description.

Quality is good but will not properly fit a Schluter 2" linear drain as it is only about 1 7/8" diameter.
