I adhered it to a piece of cardboard since I didn't want to mar the furniture. A couple observations: the stickiness is just right. I was able to reposition the paper to get out some wrinkles, but it's good and stuck after rubbing on it with a ruler. The paper is thin so there were a lot of wrinkles/bubbles that had to be smoothed out. I was able to get most of them out with a fingernail, but I roughed up the paper in a couple places. So be gentle. A few wrinkles remained, but aren't very visible since the paper is against the back wall of my wall unit. I think they would be very visible if you were using the paper on a wall or the outside of a piece of furniture.
