The only problem is that the position does not stay constant. Whenever the child reapplies the seat belt, the clip must be readjusted which should be done properly by an adult. I bought this booster because of the shoulder belt clip, but it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. My seven year old grandson doesn't ride with me frequently so I have some time to work with another way to make the strap stay more firmly in place, perhaps adding an 'S' type buckle.
