The box was wrapped in a plastic bag and the box was a bit messed up but the product was perfect. I seasoned them even though they came pre-seasoned, but that was just my OCD kicking in. Used the larger pan already for breakfast and it was great. No problems with sticking. I have used cast iron before and love them. I can't wait to use the smaller one. I was actually looking at getting only a small one, but the deal for both was too good to pass up. The store brand was almost $18 for just the little one. It's my first set of cast iron. I noticed that the surface is rough, and I know from using other people's cast iron cookware that the surface is supposed to be smooth. I did some research and found out that manufacturers of cast iron cookware used to polish their cookware decades ago, and have pretty much stopped doing it.So, the cookware doesn't really NEED to be polished, but I'm going to do it anyhow because it's like "COME ON, REALLY...!?!" Then I'll have to re-season it.I'm giving this 4-stars because I found out that this is normal in the industry now. The ONLY complaint that I have about this cookware is that the surface is just a tiny bit rough. I can't give it 5-stars because many people are likely to feel the same about the rough surface, but are NOT willing to polish it...even though this seems to be the new standard in the industry.
