Review: Good quality kit, steep learning curve - Not an easy thing to do, but I decided it was worth my time to install my own solar panel bird guard. $50 vs. $1500. And just in time, too, as the local pigeon population had decided to nest underneath. The metal netting and fasteners are black (except for the stainless steel rods) which matches my panels. I expect the bird guard to last the lifetime of my system or roof, whichever comes first. A word of caution, though, as you can easily damage your panels or yourself in the process; do not attempt this on a sloping roof unless you are fit, cautious, and adventurous.
