**Q: Why does the wifi extender need to be in the upright position, and what happens if it doesn't?**
A: The unit will work in all configurations but the loss of antenna power will be reduced changing the range significantly. When in the down position the signal needs the reflect from the floor whereas in the upright position the signal is free to travel up and around reflecting off ceiling to open areas.

If you place behind furniture pointing down makes it much worst. Good luck.

**Q: I'm adding a cellular unit to my existing alarm system. The connection is not that great. Can I add the wireless extender to increase the wifi?**
A: Hi! The TL-WPA7617 Kit extends your existing network's Ethernet (wired) connectivity via the electrical wiring within your home, then transmits that to the extender unit, which broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal at the desired installation location.

**Q: I have a splitter to my Ethernet wall outlet. Can this use that splitter as the “router”? I’m in an apartment without access to the router.**
A: Hi! If the Ethernet wall outlet is an active LAN connection, then yes, you can treat it as a physical LAN connection and connect the main Powerline adapter to it via Ethernet cable.

**Q: Can I plug it into 220v outlet?**
A: Yes, these adapters support 100 - 240V, 50/60Hz. Just be sure to use the appropriate outlet/socket converter if taking the kit to another region than the US.

I own the kit to get Wifi into my garage and it works great. So well, I decided to get another extender to kick up the speed of my weak wifi signal where the PS4 is located. However, the weak wifi was better than the signal from the outlet 5 feet away. In looking back through the house, the origin unit is two circuit breakers away (one main and one sub panel) from the outlet by the PS4. The Verizon router was pushing 60-80 and the extender 20-25. If you have a straight run or a dead zone, these work great. Beyond that YMMV based on your electrical setup. (I could have an electrician fix that, however for less money I could have cat5/6 run to the room).
