Muy útil, destruye documentos y quedan pedacitos muy pequeños ilegibles. Por otro lado el producto había llegado con una pieza rota y me hicieron el reemplazo muy rápido. Vendedor muy confiable, lo recomiendo.

A Document Shredder worthy of the title, maybe?.

Does it's job as well or better than expected. Efficient, compact, relatively quiet, and easy to empty (don't have to lift off the heavy/awkward shredder head because the bin pulls open from the front). Have not tested this shredder with it's maximum 12 sheet capacity but it works perfectly for my needs. Just need to be aware that the paper is not fed into this unit straight down, but angled more from the front ,which although less convenient does reduce the fear of something being placed into it accidentally ( ex. by a child). I did want to mention that the shredder arrived with a few bits of paper in the blades and bin, but the insert in the manual clarifies that this is intentional as part of the final test before packaging.2 month follow up ...I have used this shredder on an occasional and minimal (maybe 1-2 sheets /day) basis, and the auto function suddenly stopped functioning as it should (turned on on it's own). The unit now stays on unless switched manually to off. I have read reviews of other Royal shredders having the same problem (see Costco). So, I would say it is still a great shredder but no longer has an auto on/off function. Keep that in mind when purchasing this unit.

    Very nice shredder!

[Update after using for a while - I have noticed a quirk that is a minor annoyance, and a way around it. In this example I am shredding 3 letter sized pages that had been tri-folded to fit a business envelope. If I feed the pages so the fold is pointing the top edge more downward, the shredder doesn't seem to want to 'grab' the paper. But if I turn the stack over, so the folds are upward, this seems to point the edge of the papers upward into the slot, and the shredder will eagerly take them. There seems to be a little hesitation between the sensor turning on the shredder when the paper is first inserted, until the paper is grabbed and pulled in. Having the leading edge inclined upward reduces this hesitation almost completely.I just received one of these 112MX shredders this morning, and I have already fed it over 100 pages of old documents, half a dozen CDs, and a couple credit cards. Being rated at 12 pages, yes it "can" take 12 pages of 20lb. paper at a time, but the load is quite noticeable. However, after trying that once just to see, I settled on feeding it 8 pages at a time, and it took each stack eagerly as I cleaned out some old documents. I was working at a rate such that I would glance at the page to see what it was, lay it down and pick up another, repeating this until I got to 8 pages, then fed them into the shredder. It seems quite happy at this rate and probably would have kept on going as long as I needed it to go.The user manual says "continuous shredding of computer paper should not exceed 2 minutes. If continuous use is required at the maximum sheet capacity (12 sheets), it is recommended that shredding time should be 2 minutes on and 25 minutes off to allow proper cooling of the motor." it works really hard at 12 sheets, and I can't see the need to do that. Simply using a few less sheets at a time makes it work easier, and so I am sure the motor wouldn't heat up nearly as fast. The manual also says the 112MX is equipped with an automatic motor overload protection circuit. I wouldn't advise relying on that to establish a work load for handling less than 12 sheets at a time over a prolonged session of shredding, but as I mentioned, at the pace I ran it had no signs of overheating. The CD shredder runs very smoothly (there is a separate slot for discs, but the pieces fall into the same paper bin). It only shreds the disc into 4 wide strips, although the edges are pretty rough. I became curious, if one had a disc with rather sensitive info on it, could the pieces be re-run through a second time? The short answer is yes, BUT, do not drop them in such that their cut edge is parallel with the top of the shredder! If you do, they will fall down into the slot, and not be tall enough to trigger the sensor inside the slot. There is a hesitation when a disc is inserted, before the shredder starts. If you were to drop a second piece in there too, and they tried to go through together, it would very likely damage the shredder. The good news for me was that I was able to unplug the shredder, invert it, and get the piece to fall back out. Powered once again, I placed a piece of shredded disc on an angle into the slot (like 45 degrees) and held the end of the piece while it while entering the slot. This allowed it to be shredded a second time. The sensor seems to be left of center in the disc slot. I was able to re-shred all 4 strips, which made smaller pieces. If you are laughing at this point, I should mention I had Googled "how to recover a shredded CD" before doing this experiment, and DID find an article telling it has been done to recover partial information with "cut" CDs. But I would think with the very rough edges this shredder makes, it would not be easy to get a disc back together and spin smoothly enough to be read.Capacity-wise, the shredder's removable bin easily holds close to 100 pages, and maybe more, especially if at some point toward the full mark you jostle the unit a bit to help the pieces settle. But the back side of the bin is much lower than the front. So it would be advisable to empty the bin once you see a lot of pieces through the clear window at the bin's handle. That way it won't spill pieces over the back side of the bin as you pull it out.Overall I am quite satisfied with this shredder for home use.
