While the initial condition was disappointing, the seller’s responsiveness and willingness to resolve the problem made a big difference. Arrived in perfect condition! Works exactly as expected. I'm able to my freshly churned gelato and sorbetto to -40C in a few hours to reduce the ice crystals. My only regret is I wish I would have ordered a larger chiller, but I'm constrained for space.
