First was stolen, then my friend's wife's Jeep wrecked and he gave me her gas cap when he went to go recover items from the Jeep. This time around I was trying to fix a small evap leak (P0456). For what that's worth it turned out to be the Mopar® 4861962AA Exaporative System Intergrity Module Detector. If you're here because of that issue then you're doing the right first step: a bad gas cap is an all too often issue with any car that can cause an evap leak on modern vehicles. From my research however that detector I mentioned is the second most likely culprit. The nice thing about that is that it's a $31 part and requires no tools to replace: I literally had my old one out and new one installed in less than five minutes including the time to crawl under the Jeep (do disconnect your battery for five minutes after any attempted fix first because your evap leak error code will not go away immediately). Well hopefully that helps somebody.
