It's not loud enough to get one's attention from another room. So it's not that useful to me for using it in the kitchen to alert me to check on something that's cooking. However, it's just right for my computer desk, and that's where I'm using it. For the kitchen I'm using the Wrenwane brand timer that I also bought on Amazon. It's nice and loud and works well, but regrettably, it doesn't have the count-up/count-down feature which would be VERY helpful. I've had several Radio Shack brand digital timers over the years, and they've nearly always been of good quality, worked well, and lasted for a long time. They also look nice and make it quick and easy to program in the time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Timer *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2018* Easy to use timer with high and low settings for the alarm. Magnet on back holds the timer on a refrigerator securely. Uses a single AAA battery instead of the button batteries a similar model used in the past.
