Prep 3 is a workhorse, 3 horse power and has a 5 year warranty and that's huge since it is built to work in a commercial kitchen . It has an amazing cooling fan at the highest speed and can do many jobs back to back without having to let it cool down. There are manual controls-no bells and whistles but its amazing how fast it gets the work done ! (I have tried numerous blenders) A3500 has wireless connection and pairs with your phone and has 5 program settings and has 10 year warranty but it has 2.2. horse power and for me the higher horse power coupled with the cooling fan was very important . Prep 3 is 20.3" High and A3500 is 17" high, so that might be a factor if you plan to keep it on the counter top. **Q: What is the Voltage, does it suppport 240V ?** A: This is a 120V. **Q: Does this need a separate dry container to grind flours? Which models of dry containers fit Prep 3?** A: It best to use a dry container for flour. I use the same dry container I used for a the vitamix I bought seven years ago on my new Prep 3. **Q: What does this blender come with ? Cleanup is quick and easy, and it’s built to last. If I could give it more than five stars, I would! ### ⭐ It is junk *by K***N on August 25, 2023* I was so excited to get a new commercial Vitamix! I have had it almost three years now and it is terrible. It worked well for about a month or so and then seemed to start slipping. It would not blend thick smoothies (2 cups yogurt, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 2 whey ice cubes, 1 frozen banana) except on high and with the high boost. It would not blend thick slurries either and kept slipping where it would blend then not, but only on high with high boost. I tried to make an emulsion (oil and water) last week and it wouldn't blend much at all until I was on high. I contacted Tech Services after about a year and showed them the video of not blending at 1/2 full slurry on high and they just said you need to keep using the pusher and that this is normal. I had many people using OLD models of this vitamix and they RAVED about it for dry blending, thick slurries, frozen smoothies, so as you can imagine I was super excited to get a brand new one. This was an upgrade from my 3 year old refurbished blendtech. This product is horrible. My now 6 year old refurbished blendtech is still working amazingly (had to replace the container once for burning the seal out blending really really thick slurry of kale leaves and water for too long it really needed more water and blendtech is not designed for dry blending even though it does it really well), but it is still going strong and I find myself choosing the old refurbed blendtech over my 2.5 year old new commercial vitamix. No help from tech services either. this performance is "normal". If you are doing blended soups like squash soup, yup, works great. otherwise, it has been horrible for me and no support from vitamix.
