**Q: Does artic chill ensure pre-surgery contain any dyes or color or is it clear as water?**
A: Meets ERAS guidelines for pre-surgery use of a clear carbohydrate beverage

**Q: Is this product dairy free ?**
A: Per the labeling, it's suitable for people who are lactose intolerant, but it's not suitable for people with galatosemia. I can't figure out whether it's dairy protein allergy or cc safe.

If you're wondering outside of the allergy question, it's a fully clear product and doesn't look milk-shake-like at all.

**Q: Can you use this for working out purposes ?**
A: Probably regular Ensure(original, high protein) would be better for working out.  You should call the company to ask them.  They would know much better than I would.

**Q: It sells in a package of 10, but the way it is described you only drink 3?  Will I use all 10?**
A: I only used 3, but check with your physican prior to purchasing, no need to buy more than what you need.

I was surprised by how many people think that this item, Ensure Pre-Surgery, is the same thing as Ensure sold at grocery stores. This is a special form of Ensure Clear, not just transparent, but without any color at all, which is designed to be a part of a strict clear liquids diet before a medical procedure, such as surgery or colonoscopy. You would not drink it more than a day, and there is no other reason to drink it other than for a medical procedure. It is totally clear (no color at all). It comes in strawberry flavor, but the flavor is very subtle and I would probably not even guessed that it is strawberry if it was not written on the bottle. It is probably an artificial strawberry flavor. The taste is agreeable, but I would not drink it if I did not have a good reason to. I used it for prep for colonoscopy. Ensure Pre-Surgery is not carried by grocery stores or pharmacies, so I was very glad to find it on Amazon. It is unlikely that someone would drink more than 4 bottles during the day of clear liquids diet (in most cases it is a one day prep, although it may be different in some cases, I just do not know). The difference with Ensure Clear is that Ensure Clear is transparent, but has a strong color to it (and tastes better). Depending on the type of medical procedure which you are preparing for, Ensure Clear might also work (and it would have more flavors and would taste better and it is also cheaper) - ask your doctor.
