They have good arch support I can feel, which I need for chronic plantar fasciitis, and have enough "give" to be comfy. The only complaint I have is that the ridged footbed seems to make the soles of my feet rougher. The metal logo on the side gives the sandal a bit of "pizzaz", but can catch on fabric easily. The materials are durable. I've worn these sandals for more than 2 years as house/yard shoes and they are holding up very well with no damage other than slight fraying in spots around the edges of the straps.
