I would spray the area then let it sit 5-10 minutes. Use a brush on a stick brush with some water, brush it in then let dry and vacuum. **Q: What is the colorfast mop it says to use to work the foam into the carpet?** A: I ordered the scrubber that goes along with the product is just a wide brush with a handle but well worth it **Q: Does this can fit in the handle brush clean easy appliance?** A: It fits in the long red one, but it is not an effective cleaner. They changed the formula about a year or so ago and it does not remove the stains. The original formula had some bleach in it. It did not affect the color/quality of the carpet, but it DID clean and remove the pet stains thorouoghly! **Q: Does this have fragrance in it?** A: The instructions require that you use it in a well ventilated area. It is a strong cleaner. There is a "fragrance" but I would not call it a masking perfume.
