They taste very good and we use them to make soups with freeze dried potatoes, beans, and/or vegetables along with beef bullion, black pepper and crushed red peppers. Now after the Daisy Chain of Hurricanes, Harvey, Irma, and Maria swept through and made a mess, I'm turning into a full-fledged prepper. The 8.0 Mexico earthquake did a bit to unsettle me as well. AND the civil unrest that is seeming to be more prevalent is giving me cause to pause. So, I'm now making meals in a jar. I used the chicken from Valley Food Storage in a meal of chicken and rice. I was AMAZED. I had big 1/2" chunks of chicken! I used everything freeze dried or dehydrated and it came out really good. I even gave some to my neighbors who had no clue it was all from dried food. They were shocked that it tasted so good. And the texture was good as well. But the BEST PART was that I had my SO make it for me! "Just bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Open the jar and pour this all in the pot. Stir. Put the lid on it. Drape it with the kitchen towels. Wait 15 minutes. Stir. Eat." SHAZAM! Dinner is ready! Ok, ok, so we had a salad, too....I also got some freeze dried beef and sausage, but I haven't tried them yet. But the chicken is really, really good.
