Previously, booting, starting applications, even going through the c:\ drive (yes, Windows 7 here) would be an extremely slow and painful process. Drop down menus would take 30 seconds to show up when clicking on buttons, web browsing was amazingly slow, the hard disk was going on and on all the time. The computer was spending all its time swapping/paging between RAM and HD. Now, this 4 GB is in... Starting the laptop takes a fraction of time, and once the desktop is on, the HD is no longer going like it used to be. Starting applications is immensely faster. For the low price of this memory, I took a leap of fate. When you go for "official" Dell recommended memory, it costs 3 to 4 times the price of this pair of sticks. Is this New Old Stock ? Or is this RAM salvaged from recycled computers ? I do not know for sure, the sticks look in excellent condition and the seller advertises this as new. But for sure, they work great so it is a good buy.
