Yes, it's just thin polyester knit fabric, and yes, I could've sewn that one seam and made one, but would I have? Nah, prolly not. Easier to order it, leaving me more time to shop on Amazon! I was surprised at how comfortable it is around my neck, although it will probably get really hot this summer, but it sure is convenient to have it around your neck. I wore my surgical mask underneath it for that extra layer of protection. I like this whole "mask" thing way better than I thought I would.
