If you want them sturdier after installing, you could get some long poles (like tent poles or something) and wire them to the arches on the sides and top, connecting several arches together. That will definitely make them sturdier. Good luck! **Q: How thick are these pieces? 11mm?** A: Problem is the connectors break when you tryptophan bend them **Q: Can you make 5 loops of 10 segments each to make it taller?** A: I don't know if you can. I would not use these ever again. They are dangerous. They explode when trying to bend them. Even after I had these in my raised bed they would still explode on there own, without being near them. You would be better off getting the ones that have more of a square to them. I do hoop covering in my home garden. Mostly cabbage and broccoli. So the hoops are widely spread apart. No matter how wide I used these they would snap where the plastic connectors are. Even tried using a strong tape. Still broke. The ones I could use snapped when a simple rain storm came.
