As long as you do not have a need to pull yourself into the driver's seat on the handhold (I never used it), this very innovative solution works. It may not work on all size glasses-- I think my regular and sunglasses tend to be on the larger size, but they both fit in. It's not intuitive and mine did not come with instructions (but a quick Youtube video was easily found). It comes with all the tools you need for the job (that is a plus) and I am happy with it so far. Very clever "hack" to the Golf R mk8.

Replaces something I will never use, for something I might use…maybe. Worth $30 for me, somewhere to store a backup set of sunglasses, as my normal pair usually just end up on the passenger seat. Google an install video, it was harder to get the stock grab handle off than expected.
