Considering the low price and what I've put them through, they're a pretty good value! These are my impressions after 5 months of heavy use:-The boot's fine. I was between sizes and ordered up to an 8. They are starting to smell somewhat...nothing a little spray won't take care of! One of the speed straps came apart after a couple of months but duct tape took care of that. The skates don't come with toe-guards or reinforced toe leather but despite that showed very little wear with regular skating on our smooth-concrete practice floor. But after a couple of hard-core knee-falls and slides on asphalt the leather over the toe wore off, and the right boot partially separated from the truck; again, nothing that a little duct tape didn't fix.-No problems with the trucks.-The toe-stops are a bit high, but they're big, which you may or may not like. If I could ever get the screw that holds them on loosened I'd put a couple of washers on there to bring em down.-The wheels, as stated, are 58mm wide. I have no idea of their hardness, and can't find the info anywhere online! They're okay though a bit skittery on smooth concrete floors, great on polyurethane gym floors, and horribly rough on outside pavement.-The Abec-3 bearings...at first I did not love them, but after a couple of thorough cleanings, I respect their cheap durability. The set was a mixed bag of good and less-than-good bearings. When they're dirty you'll know it -- everyone will because they get pretty noisy. But they do clean up well. I'm actually happier with the Abecs than I am with a second pair of Qubes I bought.My intention with this second pair is to upgrade the wheels for my indoor skating, and use my original, taped-up pair for outdoors. After some adjustments the boots felt great, like wearing regular shoes. My first time out I found the quality several times better then the rental skates I had been using, but after 2 times out I got all that I could from them and replaced the bearings. To sum up heres a little checklist of the components and their quality.Wheels- Not bad, but not great, they have to be cleaned alot or else they can slip when you're pushingBearings- very sluggish, replacing them is recommendedTrucks- They work fine, adjusted them once to where I like them and haven't had to adjust them yetPlate- I'm fairly certain its chromed plastic, they feel cheap BUT they've been able to hold me 330 lbs self while ripping through sharp turns at high speed.Toe stop- Works fine if you can put enough pressure on itBoot- comfortable even when tight, though I added a cheap soft insert for extra comfort. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great starter skate! *by M***S on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on February 19, 2013* I was thinking about joining a roller derby team, but I grew up rollerblading and was not very comfortable with skating! I tried on at a pair of the same brand at my local Academy but they only had them with the lime green accents which made me want to barf, so I decided to order them online. I am a woman who usually wears between an 8 1/2 and 9 shoe size. Size 7 fits me perfectly in men's. Trust me I tried on the 7 1/2 at the store and they were just too big, which is weird because 8 1/2 in women's has never been too big for me. If anything I have to go UP to a 9. Oh yeah-if you couldn't already tell- I am a freak about buying things so I looked like every possible physical store and online place and at the time these were the best bang for my buck as a starter skate. I do enjoy them. I go skate every day now. These are the kind that have ridges in the wheels.
