I took the plastic butt plate off before installing the recoil pad (size small), the fit is perfect, and it increased the LOP by just over .25". If the butt plate was left on, it would increase the LOP by a little over .5". For my rifle, no modification was needed, it fits snug and right up against the sling/bipod stud, like it was made for this rifle. I imagine the fit would be similar for most standard polymer straight stocks. Can't comment on its ability to effectively reduce recoil, but it feels very similar to the excellent recoil pad on my CVA Scout. Seems to be a good product for a good price. Probably no need to spend more $$ on the 'other' brand. Its hard to tell if the small pad would be too large for your second one or not. You might try buying a single small pad, as it likely will fit your first rifle. And when you get it, test it on the second rifle. If it fits, then use the one pad on either rifle.
