The grille is a great thickness of metal and the plastic is very solid, too. The included template (to help you figure out what size/shape hole to cut) is cut from a nice sheet of plastic that you wont accidentally tear or deform. I went with this model specifically because I wanted the built-in power outlets and I couldn't be happier. The thermostat has been keeping my two Wiim Amps cool in the tiny cabinet they are in and it has been doing so very quietly.
