Purchased 2 different brands prior to this one and returned both because they just didn't get cold enough, were loud, and one was too small in depth and height inside. I currently have a water bottle, a canned soda, a lunchable, a few bite size chocolate bars, a 1.6 quart of iced tea, and a sandwich and it all fits nicely. This little fridge is a workhorse. I havent had any issues with having to wipe up condensation and the door closure is nice and secure (it clicks shut). By far this is the most quality desktop fridge design (size, mechanics, and material) Ive ever used. I did overfill it one day (I stuffed it and forced the door shut) and the consequence 2 days later was a small 1" patch of ice built up on the inside back wall but everything was still cold, the door latch held, and no mechanical issues afterwards. Is it safe to do so? What kind of clearance is needed around it?** A: The manual tells how many inches is needed for the motor fan. I think 3 inches but consult the manual. **Q: How to make it cold how dose it work** A: It's a little complicated, but I'll try to give you the abridged version. So first you have to get these little coin shaped trays. They come in the box, there's two trays with enough room for 8 coins per tray, but you have to freeze water in them so that you'll eventually have a bunch of these ice coins. So after you have about $40 worth of Ice coins (each ice coin is worth 25¢) you have to quickly insert them in the ice coin slot of the fridge, because if you go too slow the ice coins will melt. And I know what you're thinking, "don't I have to already have a freezer to make the ice coins?" Well, the short answer is yes and no. Yes if you live in warmer climates, but if it's cold enough outside you can place them overnight to freeze (to do this you will need the expansion set of Ice coin tray molds so you can get your $40 worth of Ice coins to use). So the next morning, or whenever you have accumulated enough ice coins, quickly (and carefully) pop them out of the molds and begin inserting your set of Ice coins into the ice coin deposit slot on your new mini fridge. When the mini fridge is satisfied it will immediately start to glow (check the helpful green LED located on the side for confirmation) and the door should now easily open. All you have to do now is place your chosen beverages in the fridge and you are on your way to living the good life. Never again will you be hassled to walk to another room to retrieve a beverage! I kept it plugged in 24/7 except summers when it was stored. It worked well and chilled decently for two years, but the other day it started overheating (when on cool mode). Had I not been here, I fear a fire might have started. I am disappointed to say the least. I thought it would last longer. I thought if it were to die, it would just stop cooling, not overheat.
