Short cord is attached and can be "hidden" inside the bottom of the player so it's very portable and you won't lose the cord. The box says "DVD-RW" but it does read DVD+R discs that I have burned before. I have not tested DVD burning because I will no longer store anything on optical media. I am only using this machine to transfer all my previously archived data plus old DVD movies onto my hard drive. Optical media is obsolete and my new laptop doesn't even come w/ one. The seller sent me an email with detailed instructions on how to make it work (such as plug it directly to the computer rather than via an USB hub). On my windows 10 machine it's completely plug and play. No need to install driver or anything. I have no trouble with this player opening all the discs i have tried except one bad disc that can't be played previously on any DVD player whatsoever.

Good player with a very good price. Does what it claims to do. Short cord is attached and can be "hidden" inside the bottom of the player so it's very portable and you won't lose the cord. The box says "DVD-RW" but it does read DVD+R discs that I have burned before. I have not tested DVD burning because I will no longer store anything on optical media. I am only using this machine to transfer all my previously archived data plus old DVD movies onto my hard drive. Optical media is obsolete and my new laptop doesn't even come w/ one. The seller sent me an email with detailed instructions on how to make it work (such as plug it directly to the computer rather than via an USB hub). On my windows 10 machine it's completely plug and play. No need to install driver or anything. I have no trouble with this player opening all the discs i have tried except one bad disc that can't be played previously on any DVD player whatsoever.
