Product description SaltyShrimp - Sulawesi Mineral 8.5Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed after scientific analysis of the lakes in the Malili Lake system on Sulawesi and is used to harden osmosis water, rainwater, fully desalinated water, etc. It dissolves in the water with a little effort, but achieves an almost identical water composition to that found in Lake Towuti. It only dissolves in the water with some effort, but achieves an almost identical water composition to that found in Lake Towuti, with a correspondingly high pH value of approx. 8.5, which reduces the bacterial load.Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 contains all the important minerals and trace elements for the health, well-being and coloration of the well-known shrimp species from this region. It promotes microbial regeneration in bio-filter substrates. It also reduces the risk of dangerous germs by promoting antagonistic (counteracting) microflora. Increases the carbonate hardness and total hardness in the ratio KH/GH = 0.78/1.0.NoteAs it is still difficult to breed the very sensitive shrimp from Lake Towuti (e.g. the harlequin shrimp - Caridina woltereckae or red stripe shrimp - Caridina striata), we last visited the lakes in 2011 after 2008 to investigate the living conditions on site and have water samples analyzed.The results of the water analyses showed fundamental differences in the water chemistry of the lakes of the Malili system compared to generally known lake water types, so that we had to completely recompose the constellation of minerals here; this resulted in the Sulawesi Mineral 8.5.The less sensitive Sulawesi shrimps such as the cardinal shrimp (Caridina dennerli) can be kept and bred well with Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 and Sulawesi Mineral 8.5. In the case of the very sensitive shrimp species, we hope for better long-term results with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5, which is almost identical to the water chemistry of Lake Towuti.APPLICATIONStir the Sulawesi salt Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 into water outside the aquarium. It only dissolves when CO2 is added over a few days. With a normal amount of CO2 (one bubble per second), the salt dissolves completely in approx. 3-4 days. After adding CO2, the water must then be aerated with an aerator for at least 3 hours to expel the CO2. The water is then ready for use. Temperature adjustment to the aquarium water is recommended. Undissolved particles should be added to the aquarium. Close the can after each use.DOSAGESoften osmosis water, rainwater, demineralized water, etc. with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 to approx. 7 °dH and conductivity approx. 220 +/- 40 µS (microsiemens), which corresponds to approximately one level measuring spoon (approx. 3 g) per 20 liters of water. Measuring spoon enclosed.AVAILABLE VARIANTS- 230g (sufficient for approx. 1.532 liters of aquarium water) Directions Add Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 in water outside your aquarium. It dissolves almost completely when CO2 is added for a few days. With regular amount of CO2 (one bladder per second), the salt dissolves completely in approx. 3-4 days. If you use CO2 to dissolve the mineral salt, please make sure that you leave the water with an air stone for at least three hours to emit the CO2. Then the water is ready to use. We recommend adjusting the temperature of the new water to the one in your tank. Please make sure you also add undissolved particles into your tank. Close the container after use. Dosage RO water, rainwater, fully desalinated water, etc. is achieved with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 to a hardness of around 7°dH and/or a conductivity of around 220 +/- 40 µS (microsiemens). This corresponds to a slightly heaped measuring spoon (approx. 3 g) to 20 litres of water. Measuring spoon is included.

It’s something like this: 1 lb RO/0.07 g minerals You can use a carbonated water maker like SodaStream to thoroughly mix these hard-to-dissolve minerals. For example and in my case, I would use 2.68 gallon RO water and pour it in a bucket with a water pump to mix/circulate the water; carbonate 1.32 gallons of RO water and pour it into the mixing bucket, then use 1 gallon of fresh RO water to reduce/adjust the water to a proper TDS of around 115-140 TDS like what Marks Shrimp Tanks has shown. This is basically the best method to mix these hard-to-dissolve minerals, and it’s all thanks to Marks Shrimp Tanks. - Yong

Ich habe lange mit Salzen der mitbewerber experimentiert, allerdings nie sehr erfolgreich. Seit ich dieses salz nutze vermehren sich meine dennerli, striata und harlekin ohne ende :) Zusatz: das salz kann man auch ganz easy eine halbe stunde vor dem wasserwechsel in warmem wasser auflösen. Man benötigt kein CO2 zum lösen
