The mug does a pretty good job of keeping coffee hot. **Q: What is the practical capacity of the 12 oz mug ?** A: I got the 24 oz because I like 2 cups of coffee in the morning and with this cup it keeps that amount of coffee hot hot hot!. The whole point for me was keeping my coffee caliente. But if you drink less than then 12 oz works well too. Great top so you can travel with it . Highly recommend !!!
