Wind when there is wind and solar when the sun is shining but 1600 W Max total?** A: Why do you want to limit the output? Most of the time everyone wants everything they can get from the energy sources (with the exception of when the batteries are full, then we don't want to overcharge them). The controller will detect battery level to stop charging when needed, otherwise the whole idea of "Maximum power point tracking" features is to give you everything it can. If you never want over 1600W power, why not get something like only 1000W in solar panels and a 600W wind generator where the max they give is your total? I suppose some may say "I want a near constant 1600W, so I want 1600 in solar, but I need more from wind at night too, etc" where sorry that neither one is a certain 24/7 available source of power.
