This professional stethoscope with a two-sided chest piece offers high accoustic sensitivity for superior performance. Its best for women who do not wish to introduce ultrasound into the womb. Its a safe, effective, natural alternative to ultrasound or doppler use and a great way for the whole family to bond with baby. A traditional bell is combined with a diaphram allowing you to switch between the two depending on your preference. The diaphram side can be used to detect adult/child heartbeat whereas the bell shaped chest piece can be used to detect a fetal heartbeat. Our deluxe, dual head, fetal stethoscope can be used to detect a fetal heartbeat from about 20 weeks onward. Our Stethoscopes are backed by a 5 year warranty and are completely safe for mom and baby. Listening to the Fetal Heart
Starting at around 20 weeks, the fetal heartbeat can usually be heard without Doppler amplification (ultrasound). At this point a special stethoscope called a fetoscope can be used. The heartbeat is best heard over the baby's back, which often seems firm when you feel around the uterus. It may be difficult to hear the fetal heart by stethoscope if the mother is overweight or if the placenta is on the front wall of the uterus.
