It has a locking pin that is good quality, the step slides in easy and has a securement clamp that you need an 18mm wrench or deepwell socket,ratchet to install. Once clamped it is rock solid and at the right hight for my 2017 ram 2500 powerwagon. Good powder coat and looks great too. Package came with everything I needed to install and secure the step to my Tundra. It even came with a hitch lock and a stablizing plate that bolts on the bottom of the step and prevents the step from moving or shifting. And the lock is not some cheap lock discount store lock. The step is coated with a textured, non-silp finish and raised bumps, similar to traction tread, that help keep your footing. I looked a several other steps that cost a lot more and didn't offer nearly as much quality as this one.
